Dear God, I prayed, all unafraid
(as we're inclined to do),
I do not need a handsome man
but let him be like You;
I do not need one big and strong
nor yet so very tall,
nor need he be some genius,
or wealthy, Lord, at all;
but let his head be high, dear God,
and his eyes be clear,
his shoulder straight, whate'er his state,
whate'er his earthly sphere;
and let his face have character,
a ruggedness of soul,
and let his whole life show, dear God,
a singleness of goal;
then when he comes (as he will come)
with quiet eyes a glow,
I'll understand that he's the man
I prayed for long ago

God, make me worthy to be his wife

as cliffs are made, so make me strong,

a help for him when things go wrong.

Clear as the dew, Lord, make my mind,

clear as the dew, and just as kind;

and let me be refreshing too,

- and quiet to remind You.

With him to laugh in face of tears,

in face of worries and of fears;

brave to be and do and bear,

quick to yield and glad to share.

Let him know through coming days

my love is warm for him always.

His head's held high as he faces life;

God, make me worthy to be his wife.

Something Stupid

It's a poem which I wrote on March last year. After I wrote it, I totally forgot about it.. Then, a few days ago, while scanning through my files, I found it again. I haven't make any other poem these past months, so this is the last poem I've created so far..
